To Make Any Sale, You Must “Make Every Sale”

From one-call closes at the county fair to multi-million and even billion-dollar deals, every sale is comprised of a series of smaller closes that lead to the final deal.

So, this is not a "magical" system or shortcut or "hack."

It's foundational.

It's nuanced.

It's powerful.

However, the concept is quite simple and straightforward when you think about it:

To make ANY sale, you must make each and EVERY sale.

In other words, to make any sale, you must

  • make the right step,
  • say the right thing,
  • not say the wrong thing,
  • speed up,
  • slow down,
  • give in,
  • stand firm,
  • at the right time,
  • every time.

(In 1994 I met my wife at a country bar in San Bernardino, CA, and we were married less than a year later, so trust me, this does work! Now, where was I...?)

Assuming you are going out tonight with the goal of finding the love of your life and getting married, i.e., closing the ultimate sale, you must make every smaller sale leading up to the big day.

In 1994, I did exactly that, except I did not start out with the intention to get married, and I didn't have a multi-step program to follow.

I just went out to have fun, and God took care of the rest.

While that might be fine for your love life, hopium is a terrible drug for salespeople who want to live long and prosper in the profession of sales.
